As the school is located in beautiful Hiratsuka, we are blessed with close access to the sea, river and mountain. 

The proximity to nature and its beautiful surroundings is the reason for Hiratsuka International School’s location. The rich natural environment allows us to learn from the nature that surrounds us through monthly excursions and appreciating frequent playtime in Hiratsuka’s many parks.

At our school, students are offered many opportunities to interact with the surrounding nature. We experience sand and grass with our bare feet, feeling and learning how the earth grows and changes, listen to the sound of the river, and search for animal life in the mountainsides. 

Nature is one of our teachers and we treat her with respect and care.
