挨拶が出来る
挨拶は色々な扉を開く魔法の言葉です。社会人になっても大切な習慣を小さい頃から身につけて頂きます。まずは、大人の私達がお手本となるような挨拶を常に心がけ、コミュニケーションの第一歩を学んでいきます。
Importance of grettings
Greetings are magical words that open the world. We connect with each other and become part of our community when we greet it each and every day. Learning the habit of friendly and polite greetings prepares us for happy participation in society. From the very first words, we learn by example from adults around us how to communicate with others. Therefore, teachers at our school always try to greet everyone with warmth and attention.
感謝の気持ち
健康な身体があるから、家族がいるから、太陽があるから、今日も電気がきているから、など些細な事にも感謝出来る心を育てます。周りの物が当たり前に存在するのではなく、色々な物があるから今の生活がある事。今の自分がある事を感謝できる人間を育てます。
Show gratitude for what you have
We have a strong focus on appreciation and teach this through Thank you-time at the end of each day. By reflecting on the people, things or events we are thankful for, we learn to see and appreciate the positive experience we have. We say thank you for our healthy bodies, for our family, for the sun, for electricity, for clean water – and learn in our hearts that even the most trivial things are important for our everyday life and joy and should not be taken for granted. We nurture students to appreciate what is around them as well as their own talents, skills and personality.
個性を尊重し自立性の 向上を促す
Respect others' identity and be independent
マイペースな子、せっかちな子、違う人種や文化、色々な個性の子供たちも受け入れ理解できる事を大切にします。私達は、お子様が自分自身で出来るように見守ります。そして自身の成長が人から喜んでもらえるという事を認識し、自信をつけ、自立性を促します。
We respect and appreciate that all children are different and will develop at their own pace. Children who are still learning to share are encouraged to work with others without feeling shame, and differences are celebrated and accounted for. We celebrate differences in looks, culture and habits, and think of these differences as opportunity to learn something new about each other. We watch and recognize what children are able to do on their own, and encourage independence to boost autonomy and confidence.
自尊心を育む
北米では教育科目の一つである、Show and Tellを授業に積極的に取り入れます。Show and Tellではテーマに沿って、自分の発表したいものと 話したい内容を決めて他の生徒さんの前で発表します。小さい頃から答えのない、仕切りのない世界で、自由に定期的に発表を繰り返す事によって、自信と自尊心を育みます。
Raise self-esteem
From American traditions we have adopted the idea of Show and tell as an educational subject. By incorporating the monthly theme, students are encouraged to decide what they want to show their fellow students. By repeatedly practicing personal presentations and showing their choices to their group, we aim to nurture students’ self-confidence and self-esteem.
